This page contains a variety of resources to help agencies recruit volunteers.
Register online if your agency would like to partner with VSB. Partnering with VSB has many benefits. Your agency can be a future site for a Service Saturday or Into The Streets volunteer project. If you are in desparate need of volunteers, you can post you volunteer opportunities on this website. Via awareness programs, your agency can work with VSB on educating the Treasure Valley Community about local community issues, such as poverty, the environment, education, heathcare, etc. All of these efforts will hopefully lead to more volunteers volunteering for your agency.
VSB works closely with the Service-Learning Program in providing community
service opportunities for Service-Learning students in classes that
have a service-learning component.
The Service Learning Program fosters active citizenship and enhances
student learning through academically-based community service (Service-Learning).
Service-Learning is a teaching strategy that integrates course content
with relevant community service. Through community service projects, assignments,
and class discussions, students critically reflect on the service in order
to increase their understanding of course content, gain a broader appreciation
of the discipline, and enhance their sense of civic responsibility. If your agency is interested in partnering with the Service-Learning
Program, check out servicelearning.boisestate.edu.

VSB also works closely with the United Way Volunteer Center in coordinating
programs such as the Volunteer Expo. The United
Way Volunteer Center is a statewide initiative that facilitates
volunteerism and community service by matching volunteers with service
projects in their communities. As the "Give Help" component
of 211 Idaho, callers dialing 211 looking for ways to engage in the community
are transferred to the Volunteer Center where they are connected with
an opportunity that matches their interests, skills and availability.
Volunteers can also access opportunities through a web-based database,
and can sign up for automatic notification of new opportunities. The service
is free for volunteers.
If your agency is in need of volunteers, consider posting your volunteer
opportunities by partnering with the United Way of Treasure Valley Volunteer
Center at www.volunteersolutions.org/uwtv/agency.
