Overview of Volunteer Services Board
VSB’s mission is to inspire, provide, promote and expand volunteerism at Boise State University for the purpose of developing active community members via direct service and social issues education.
Term of Office: July 2009 - May 2010
Supervisor: VSB Director

Requirements & Time Commitments
- Must attend weekly VSB staff meetings for 2009-2010
- Must work approximately 15 hours per week during 2009-2010
- Must participate in summer staff training sessions on campus
- Must participate in mid-year staff assessment sessions
- Must participate in Student Leader Summit in McCall
- Must attend all scheduled Service Saturday programs and educational programs during awareness weeks
- Must participate in all fundraising activities
- Must attend monthly VSB Campus Coalition meetings and all VSB orientations for service-learning students
- Must have and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.25 on a 4.00 scale
- Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits for entire tenure

Basic Responsibilities
- Coordinate monthly Service Saturday 2009-2010 volunteer projects with non-profit and charitable organizations that address hunger and homelessness issues
- Partner with a non-profit or charitable organization
- Serve as a Site Leader for student volunteers during service project
- Assist the Assistant Director in coordinating Into The Streets and Volunteer Day service projects
- Coordinate educational programs that address hunger and homelessness issues during the four annual awareness weeks (October, November 2007 & February, April, 2009) in collaboration with the other issues coordinators
- Coordinate programs that address local, national, and global hunger and homelessness issues
- Partner with faculty and non-profit partners to provide educational resources and volunteer opportunities
- Coordinate food and clothing drives
- Recruit students to participate during the week
- Recruit and manage volunteers
- Serve as Chair for Hunger & Homelessness Issues Awareness Week (November 2009) programs
- Coordinate American Red Cross blood drives with other issues coordinators
- Recruit donors
- Recruit and manage volunteers
- Keep track of all expenses used for programs
- Participate in all other VSB programs to support the TEAM
- Participate in all fundraising activities to support VSB programs
- Maintain a notebook that describes all your work during your tenure
- Other duties as assigned
Application Process
Application Deadline: March 31, 2009

- Return in person or via mail, your completed application form (with your typed cover letter and resume attached) to the Student Activities Office (1st floor, Student Union Building, across from the ASBSU Office).
Interview Process
- Upon review of your application, qualified candidates will be contacted to set up an interview.
- Interviews will take place April 2009.
- The interview will last about 30 minutes.
- You will be interviewed by the VSB Selection Committee (consisting of 5 or more individuals).
- A decision will be made and you will be contacted in late April via e-mail or phone.
