Into The Streets
Into The Streets is held once a semester. It is basically a large Service Saturday, which connects hundreds of volunteers with as many as 30 community agencies to volunteer for 2-3 hours. Into The Streets is a great way for students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community folk to collectively give back to the community in a massive concentrated manner. It also allows the university community to serve as active citizens in their local communities. To kickoff Into The Streets, a highly motivating keynote speaker inspires volunteers to go out and serve. Into the Streets is held usually in October (close to National Make A Difference Day) and in April (close to National Volunteer Week).
VSB is always looking for students to volunteer as Site Leaders for Into The Streets. If you are interested, sign up on-line!
Responsibilities of a Site Leader:
- Attend 1-hour Training meeting
- Be available for Into the Streets date
- Orient Volunteers about the Service Project that you are in charge of.
- Facilitate Introductory and reflection exercises.
